Details: This video presents a balanced view of why safety at the workplace is important for both the employee as well as the employer. The video stresses the obligations of the employer and the responsibilities of the employee. Everyone has a stake to make sure the work environment is as safe as possible. General safety guidelines discussed include environmental hazards, hygiene, smoking, ergonomics, and municipal codes. Equipment is discussed as is the importance of training and dealing with worker injury and natural disasters. Students will become familiar with how dust, fumes and chemicals damage the doby and how to best protect themselves. The video also stresses the importance of knowing escape routes/use of equipment for fire emergencies and how best to deal with worker injury. A very practical show designed especially for the beginning worker. Length: 15-20 minutes.
